Eight Easy Ways You Can Help Our Planet
by Ariel Lange
Tip #1:
USE GREEN CLEANING PRODUCTS. Thieves essential oil products, Young Living lemon essential oil, vinegar and baking soda will clean anything and do it much BETTER than the toxic chemical cleaners.
Tip #2:
Use NON-TOXIC PERFUMES that are great for your emotional well-being and also boost your immune system! Some top favorites are Joy, Valor, Stress Away, Abundance, Ylang Ylang, Peace & Calming and White Angelica essential oils.
Tip #3:
Use only ORGANIC, SUSTAINABLY-GROWN, non-toxic products on your pets and children.
Tip #4:
DITCH THE TOXIC SOAPS AND HAND CLEANERS. What you put on your skin is absorbed directly into your system. You'll never have to worry about germs with Thieves organic products that have full-spectrum anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. They may help boost your immune system as well!
Tip #5:
USE NON-TOXIC FLEA, TICK AND BUG REPELLENTS such as Purification, Citronella and Lemongrass. I love how Young Living essential oils really work! No more DEET for me.
Tip #6:
TAKE CARE OF YOUR GARDEN NATURALLY. No more toxic pesticides and fertilizers getting into our streams and oceans. Try Young Living Purification and Peppermint oils.
Tip #7:
AVOID products that use MICRO-PLASTIC PARTICLES (called polyethylene among other things), such as most commercial face creams, toothpastes, and even many foods! With all the concerns in the news of HIDDEN estrogen mimics, over-use of antibacterial agents, and endocrine disruptors in our personal care and cleaning products, etc, what a REFRESHING GIFT Young Living is to the world. Young Living personal care products contain NO plastics or toxic ingredients. As a matter of fact, they are BEYOND ORGANIC! The ocean creatures will thank you!
TIP #8:
AVOID USING PLASTIC BOTTLES AND BAGS. Use reusable glass or stainless steel cups and water bottles and cotton shopping bags.
Make sure you are using products from a zero impact, full disclosure company like Young Living.

Essential Oils To Ease Stress and Anxiety
by Ariel Lange
We are all familiar with stress, usually more that we would like! Stress is a normal biological response yet long-term or severe stress can be detrimental to our emotional and physical well-being. Elevated stress hormones (cortisol) depress other hormones such as serotonin and dopamine, which are needed for relaxation and sleep. Long-term diminished levels of these hormones lead to anxiety, depression and sleep disorders.
There are many highly beneficial essential oils to ease stress and anxiety. A few of these include: Lavender, frankincense, bergamot, vetiver, sandalwood, Roman chamomile, lemon, orange and other citrus oils, ylang ylang and one of my personal favorites, rose.
Lavender Some of the most interesting research I have come across showed that smelling lavender decreases cortisol level in saliva in humans. Rosemary had the same effect. Be certain that you are getting high-quality lavender which contains 187 constituents. Synthetic lavender, which is much less expensive, may only have 4 constituents. This is what you find in many bath and toiletry products.
Frankincense In 2008 Johns Hopkins University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem determined that frankincense essential oil relieves depression and anxiety.
Bergamot essential oil is widely used to reduce stress and anxiety. A recent study in Thailand showed that Bergamot essential oil reduced the hormonal (corticosterone) response to acute stress. This resulted in anti-depressant-like behavior.
A human clinical trial on clients with hypertension, using aromatherapy with a combination of 3 essential oils: lavender, bergamot and ylang ylang, found similar results. They found that blood pressure, pulse, subjective stress, state anxiety, and serum cortisol levels were significantly statistically improved compared to controls.
Vetiver oil (which comes from a grass) is psychologically grounding, calming, and stabilizing. This oil is highest in sesquiterpenes, vetiver was studied for improving children's behavior. Vetiver may help when coping with stress and to recover from emotional trauma and shock. In India, this oil is known as the oil of tranquility.
Lemon Research in Japan found that lemon oil aromatherapy has potent antidepressant/anti-anxiety effects because of its ability to balance 5-HTP and dopamine in the brain.
Rose In a study in Thailand, compared to placebo, rose oil caused significant decreases of breathing rate, blood oxygen saturation and systolic blood pressure, which indicate a decrease of autonomic arousal. At the emotional level, subjects in the rose oil group rated themselves as more calm, more relaxed and less alert than subjects in the control group. The same group of researchers found similar results for ylang ylang.
Ylang Ylang is extremely effective in calming and bringing about a sense of relaxation, and it may help with releasing feelings of anger, tension, and nervous irritability.
Young Living Peace & Calming contains tangerine, orange, ylang ylang, patchouli and blue tansy. This combination helps calm tension and uplift the spirit, promoting relaxation and a deep sense of peace. When massaged on the bottoms of the feet, it can be a wonderful prelude to a peaceful night's rest. Peace & Calming is great for young children after an overactive or stressful day.
